Man Up

Man Up is a short animation that explores the social inadequacies of a crane operator. When the hustle and bustle of the world below becomes to much he finds peace in his yellow tower of solitude. Up here he can do what he wants. But wait! The world is growing too and his attempts to stay above it all seem in vain.

Man Up is Ed’s graduation film from his Masters at the Royal College of Art. He animated the film entirely in After Effects showing how a skilled character animator can bring life and emotion to a series of geometric shapes.

The film has been shown around the world at animation and film festivals picking up a number of wards along the way.
