Tools for Humanity

Tools for Humanity is a technology company created to help minimise bots and empower humans in the age of AI.

Powered by scientists, engineers, creatives, economists and other optimists, World is a network of real humans online, with products designed to protect people by sussing out who is a bot and who is a human. A physical product called The Orb can scan a person’s face to identify them as human, without gathering any information about them.

To communicate how this all works, Tools for Humanity wanted an animated explainer that breaks down their complex technology into simple and digestible motion graphics. We created six films to support explanations for the individual products – World ID, World App, The Orb, Worldcoin and World Chain – and a longer overview of the World network.

Tools for Humanity’s visual language is designed to be accessible across borders, cultures, and languages, with an emphasis on positivity and a force for good. We were provided with brand design and illustration guidelines, and tasked with unpicking complex scripts into something widely understandable and engaging, whilst remaining true to their technical brand. This involved visually communicating without relying on illustration, using a system of stripped-back symbols and icons, with blue shading to indicate humanness.
