All Ears

A series of free-to-attend talks connecting and inspiring the creative community.

Playing, exploring and being curious is at the heart of what we do at Animade. So when the world closed due to the pandemic, like so many others, we felt it... really felt it.

We missed coming together, chatting creatively and openly—be it crowded round a screen, over a book, or at the kettle while making a brew. And we weren’t the only ones. We wanted to create a space to connect with our creative community and just... chat. About art, about inspiration, about journeys, about software, about furry friends, about childhood; about what is in our minds, in our hearts and in our fingers.

And so, we created All Ears. Starting as an excuse to bring in some brilliant artists to chat to our team, All Ears has evolved into an ongoing series of free-to-attend talks with some of the most inspiring, inventive and adventurous creatives out there.

Since our first talk in January 2021 featuring the incomparable Loulou João, it’s been an incredible journey! Flash forward a few months, we'd chatted with superstars Naomi Anderson-Subryan, Glen Miralles, Rachel Reid and Lester Chan.

Alongside platforming some exceptional artists, we’re also using this as a chance to support some brilliant causes. Tickets to All Ears are free, however optional donations to a charity of our guest’s choosing are very welcome, each of which we match-fund. On top of that, we make a £2.5K donation to the charity. We want these talks to be a great opportunity to support a great cause.

Equity, inclusivity, and accessibility are hugely important to us, and we have captions and BSL interpretation for each talk.

If there are any artists you would like to see featured in future All Ears talks, be sure to let us know here. We are excited for what the future for All Ears holds, so please stay tuned for more excellent earfuls!

Recordings of the talks will also be made available on our website, so if you were unable to attend, or you simply want to recap, you can experience the full talk in your own time.

Meet Naomi, lover of all things kitsch, paper-collage and ceramics

Part of last year's series, we spoke with London-based illustrator Naomi Anderson-Subryan, who works predominantly with ceramics and paper-collage, and is recognised for her bold use of colour and creating distinct, expressive characters. Heavily influenced by her background in performing arts, and a love for all things kitsch, theatricality and nostalgia are at the heart of Naomi’s work. To find out more, watch the talk below. The full transcript is also available to download here.
