Our first set of British slang-themed Messenger Stickers had a jolly good time on the internet – being downloaded over 14 million times.
We have been working with their team ever since, creating more packs with the most recent being 60fps and Lottie compliant. Find them in the Messenger Sticker store and get stickin'!
Packed with irreverent humour and a hefty dose of fun, each sticker communicates a particular emotion or state in just 24 frames. Here's a taste of what we've come up with...
Bird is the word
Birds are an expressive bunch on the whole, but pigeons have that edge of relatability that makes them all the more loveable. As the designs took shape, we considered the world that these birds inhabit and decided that all of the props should be objects that a pigeon might find on the street.
Squishability
On this occasion we were asked to design 20 squishy little characters that you feel you could reach out and hug. Using common search terms as a starting point we designed this tactile bunch, each one bulging with personality. When it came to refining the designs, there was a big emphasis on softness, 'squishability' and three-dimensionality.
Challenge accepted
Following the success of our first ever stickers, we were invited to create another pack of 24, this time with a wide open brief. The creative freedom we had was both the best and trickiest part – narrowing down literally anything you could think of into a cohesive idea that would be fun, different and engaging, but not too weird, was a really interesting challenge.
Not kitten around!
Loveable grump Arnold is a character with serious cat-titude. Furless and free-spirited, he plays by his own rules – but shows a softer side when playing with his cuddly frog.
In the mood
We worked closely with Meta to reimagine Moodies – Messenger’s default sticker pack of 1-2” looping animations. The stickers needed to be face-focused and show a diverse range of relatable emotions to resonate with a global audience, whilst aligning with Messenger's branding.
The cheek of it!
Our first sticker pack for Messenger was themed on all things British, each animation being based on a well-known slang word or phrase. This debut pack was downloaded over 14 million times and paved the way for all the rest. Mint!
