Dropbox

A growing library of illustrations

After previously helping Dropbox with their new brand identity, we jumped at the chance to collaborate again – this time zooming in on the little details.

Dropbox wanted to expand their illustration library, whilst maintaining their existing style. Working to their brand guidelines, we designed 30 ‘Smalls’ – little icon-like illustrations – and 32 Heroes with a cropped spot format. We then translated some of these illustrations into motion as

ambient looping animations. When working to a brand’s existing style it’s essential to fully understand how that should look and feel, continuing the charm and familiarity of the current library to appeal to Dropbox’s 700 million users.

Small but mighty

Think inside the box

A key design challenge was achieving a minimalist, instantly recognisable design system, while preserving its inherent charm. We think these mini-icons are testament to the fact that good things come in small packages!
