Bringing something Extra to the indie ticketing app
After developing and animating their Fan logo, we teamed up with DICE again to pepper the app with new animations for their ‘Extras’ feature.
DICE is a ticketing app that specialises in indie and alternative events in the music scene. After the success of our previous project developing and animating their logo, the Fan, the DICE team invited us back for more in-app animation fun!
So what’s this one all about? When you buy a ticket to an event, sometimes you can get add-ons such as Early Entry, VIP or an Artist Meet & Greet—Extras, if you will. Working with eight of these Extras, we concepted and created a set of light-touch moving illustrations to sprinkle in the app, bringing a dash more character and enticement for the user.
Super-simple in motion, the main narrative is communicated through a core static, with animation serving to add flourish and make the designs more eye-catching. Since the animations were going in the app, every asset needed to be Lottie compatible.
DICE wanted us to work with the existing Fan design, pushing it into weird and wonderful territory—think Alice in Wonderland, but not cute. Wobbly and imperfect lines abound in these unique little characters, which draw on the messy imperfection of a great night out.

It was great collaborating with Animade. They took our initial ideas and elevated them with a touch of humour and emotion that surpassed our expectations.
