Working with illustrator Giulia Sagramola, we created a one-minute short for fashion and apparel brand Boden as part of its Christmas campaign. The film stars founder Johnnie Boden and his loveable dog Sprout, and is inspired by the festive film classic, It’s a Wonderful Life.

The animation follows Sprout dreaming of her perfect Christmas, complete with sausage garlands and bone-filled stockings. Using Giulia’s illustrations, we went for a traditional approach with the team drawing each frame by hand.

Featuring Johnnie’s family and friends, it was important the film captured the magic of the party. We injected each frame with personal details such as Sprout’s mischievous behaviour, the playful antics of the kids, and the cosy chatter of the guests, with some post-dinner snoozes in between.

For music, we turned to the team at Sounds Like These, who provided a wonderfully festive soundtrack based on the carol, Hark! The Herald Angels Sing.. An extra nod to those warm, fuzzy feelings of Christmas.
