An adventurous intro for School of Motion's Cinema 4D Basecamp course, featuring one happy camper.
We were thrilled to collaborate with School of Motion, who asked us to create a short and sweet intro for their new course. With an open brief, we were guided by just one, cryptic phrase: ‘mountaineering’. We fully embraced the great outdoors, and went for a character-led piece that featured a lush mountainscape in pastel-coloured 3D. The film follows a student learning how to use 3D animation tools, battling obstacles before they reach the peak.
Cinema 4D’s UI features throughout in the form of tumbling cubes and tent-like prisms. For contrast, we created a plasticine-like feel to the lead character by adding thumb-print textures. The music was created by the talented Joe Melhuish. The 15-second spot is a speedy, energetic whirlwind, and a reminder of the value platforms like School of Motion bring to creatives all over the world, who are navigating their way through the animation wilderness.
