Covering gymnastics, diving, weightlifting, javelin and wrestling, we wanted to squeeze some fun and playfulness into the competition with our balloon characters. We released the five animations on social media throughout the sporting season, to coincide with the events going on.

After exploring lots of (pun-based) ideas, we settled on a cast of sporty balloon people, as we knew their rubbery, shape-changing abilities would look great rendered in 3D.

Our felt tip-faced balloon friends got a huge amount of love and received close to a million views across our channels.

The success of the animations was helped in no small part by the spot-on sound effects, kindly created by our friends at Mutant Jukebox. The squeakiness just added to the fun!
